The following examples illustrate how you can perform concrete tasks with T9. In every case, it is assumed that T9 is started, and the Report view is open. You can practice performing these tasks on the trial database (select Create Demo File the first time you start T9).

 

Case 1 

 

How can I find out which employees took a sick leave from the beginning of the year to date?

 

  • Click Absence Types in the Item Selection Pane at the bottom part of the Items Selection Toolbar.
  • Select Sick Leave from the list and click the right arrow to place the content in the View Window.
  • Select This Year to Date from the Period drop-down list.
  • From the Group level drop-down box, select 2 and 3 and take a look at different presentations of data.

Case 2

 

How can I delete all the expense entries from the records of employees in the Administrative group?

 

  • Click Employees in the Item Selection Pane at the bottom part of the Items Selection Toolbar.
  • Click the Group button on top of the employee list to group the employees by category.
  • Scroll to the category Administrative and select all the Employees in this category (click the first entry, press Shift, and click the last entry).
  • Click the left arrow next to any selected employee to place the content in the View Window.
  • In the Series Selection Toolbar, click Expenses/$ <This only. The records of all the expenses are displayed.
  • Select the expense records, right-click, and select Delete.
  • In the Series Selection Toolbar, click Show All. Check that the expenses column of Employee records is empty.

 

 

 

Case 3

 

How can I display at a glance the attendance and the absence records for an employee for the previous week?

  • Click Employees in the Item Selection Pane at the bottom part of the Items Selection Toolbar.
  • Select the desired Employee from the list and click the right arrow to place the record in the View Window.
  • Click the Calendar button in the Top Toolbar.
  • In the Series Selection Toolbar, click Attendance /h. <This only, then Absences.
  • In the Calendar Toolbar, from the View (Active View) drop-down list, select Week. (If you select Work Week, a time ruler (hours) is displayed to the left of calendar days; attendance/absence entries that have start/end times specified are displayed on a timeline).
  • Click the Today button in the Calendar Toolbar, then select Back-1 from the Visible Period drop-down list.

Case 4

 

How can I find out which employee put in most working hours last year and which one took most sick leaves and unpaid leaves?

  • Click Employees in the Item Selection Pane at the bottom part of the Items Selection Toolbar.
  • In the Filter drop-down box on top of the Employee list, select Active.
  • Select all employees in the list (click the first entry, press Shift, and click the last entry).
  • Click the left arrow next to any selected employee to place the content in the View window.
  • Select Last Year from the Period drop-down list.
  • Click the Attendance/$<This only button in the Series Selection Toolbar.
  • Click the Chart button in the Top Toolbar.
  • From the Sort drop-down box in the Chart toolbar, select By Value. The Master View chart shows you who is the Employee who put in most hours in the last year. (The Detail View chart shows the jobs that accumulated most hours last year.)

  • Click the Absences<This only button in the Series Selection toolbar. The attendance chart is replaced by that of absences. The Master view chart shows absence hours accumulated by every employee. (The Detail view chart shows total absence hours by type.)

  • Click Absence Types in the Item Selection pane, then select Sick Leave and Unpaid Personal Leave types.
  • Click the left arrow next to any selected category to place the content in the View window. The chart changes to reflect only these to categories of absences.
  • Check the Detail chart to determine which employee took most sick and unpaid leaves last year.

Case 5

 

How can I find out how many absence hours during week days were accumulated by active employees in the last quarter to date?

  1. Click Employees in the Item Selection Pane at the bottom part of the Items Selection Toolbar.
  2. In the Filter drop-down box on top of the Employee list, select Active.
  3. Select all Employees in the list (click the first entry, press Shift, and click the last entry).
  4. Click the left arrow next to any selected employee to place the content in the View Window.
  5. Select Last Quarter to Date from the Period drop-down list.
  6. Click Absences<This only button in the Series Selection Toolbar.
  7. Click the Statistics button in the Top Toolbar.
  8. Select By Day of Week in the Interval drop-down box.
  9. Click the Detailed toggle to display only the totals by Employee.
